This course traces the philosophical lineage from the pre-Awakening era — when Vulcan was riven by emotional warfare — through the codification of logic by Surak and his followers, and into the modern dialectical tradition.
Topics include:
- The Time of Awakening and the codification of c’thia
- Foundational texts: Analects of Surak, Treatise on the Disciplines
- The Schism: Romulan dissent and the Sundering
- Modern Surakian thought: T’Pau, Sarek, T’Lar
- Logic as ethics: applied case studies
Sixteen weeks, three sessions per week, two hours per session. Required reading list provided on enrolment.
